Established in 1987 by Joseph Martinez, a Hispanic Vietnam War veteran, PDS began with a mission to provide top-notch IT staffing solutions. From its inception, PDS demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and diversity by applying for and receiving an 8a certified small business designation. This early milestone set the foundation for the company’s growth and dedication to inclusivity.

Through strategic growth initiatives, PDS evolved into a certified veteran and minority-owned small business. One of the pivotal moments in the company’s history was securing a significant contract from a multi-national aerospace and defense organization. This milestone not only propelled the company forward but also opened up opportunities for mentorship and further growth.

Following the passing of Joseph Martinez, ownership of PDS transferred to his spouse, Bonnie, who maintained the company’s legacy and values. In 2013, Bonnie sold the business to Joe and Regina DeBaise. Regina’s majority ownership led PDS to become a woman-owned business, further exemplifying the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Despite these changes in ownership, many long-time staff members remained with PDS, reflecting the company’s enduring culture and values.

In 2018, PDS entered a new chapter by being acquired by Accscient/FutureTech. This acquisition marked the beginning of a period of significant expansion and increased capabilities for PDS. The company’s growth continued as it evolved into a respected industry player, successfully graduating and advancing from its small business status.

From 2006 to 2015, PDS was instrumental in developing Incident Management Software for a National Forest Service. This software manages all forest fires in the United States and has been deployed in Australia and Israel for fire management as well. It also played a critical role in the management of the Gulf Oil spill, showcasing its versatility and effectiveness in handling various large-scale emergencies.

In 2011-2012, PDS played a crucial role in modernizing the technological infrastructure of our Client. A dedicated team of C#/.NET developers, along with a Senior Oracle DBA, upgraded the codebase to modern standards using C#/.NET and Angular. This project also involved upgrading the Oracle Database to ensure the Client’s systems were efficient and up-to-date.

From 2012 to 2014, PDS provided a team of five front-end developers to assist in upgrading the Missionary Portfolio’s technology. This upgrade was in preparation for a significant increase in the number of missionaries in the field, following a policy change by our Client. The project ensured that the technology infrastructure could support the expanded missionary efforts effectively.

In 2013, PDS contributed significantly to our Client’s success in the Business Intelligence space. A team of 17 developers and one ETL specialist worked diligently to build out the company’s primary product for market release. The project was completed with 10 days to spare, showcasing PDS’s efficiency and expertise in delivering high-quality solutions within tight deadlines.

Between 2013 and 2017, PDS utilized its DoD Certified Facility in Clearfield, UT, to assist our Client with their Amazing Rewards Project. Three internal QA resources from PDS contributed to the project’s success, leading to further collaboration on staff augmentation projects for the Core Mainframe Transformation Project within the bank. All three PDS resources were eventually converted to full-time employee, highlighting the value and impact of PDS’s contributions.

From 2015 to 2016, PDS delivered the first two DevOps Engineers to our online car retailer Client, establishing their DevOps and CI/CD standards and practices. This foundational work helped our Client scale to its current level of success.

PDS delivered key senior resources to develop the Zelle mobile payments app from 2016 to 2017. They provided mobile development for both Android and iOS platforms, as well as backend integration with various financial institutions.

Between 2016 and 2020, PDS delivered key contributors across web and mobile development to help move our Client’s internal application to a SaaS-based application. This large-scale project involved 30-40 developers, QA specialists, and DevOps resources over multiple years.

In 2016-2017, PDS delivered principal-level consultants who developed our Client’s first e-commerce website. Prior to this, all orders were taken over the phone, marking a significant advancement in their customer service capabilities.

From 2017 to 2019, PDS consultants were crucial in building the RISE application for our Client. This next-generation platform provided real-time updates and information to drivers through Android tablets installed in their trucks. Built on Angular, Node.js, AWS Lambda, and utilizing GPS mapping, RISE created efficient routes and mapping for drivers who previously relied on paper routes.

Since 2020, PDS consultants have been integral to our Client’s migration from legacy AS400 backend systems to cloud-based solutions on Oracle Cloud and AWS. This ongoing project involves principal-level project managers, cloud engineers, data engineers, and full-stack developers.

In 2021, PDS managed a comprehensive Cyber Security project for our rocket launch Client. The project spanned over two years and grew to involve 22 contractors at its peak. PDS managed this project effectively, supplying over 12 different skill sets during the timeframe. The successful management and execution of this project underscored PDS’s capabilities in handling complex and large-scale security initiatives.

In 2024, PDS is involved in the Learning Library Project in collaboration with our Client, and a spiritual-based University. This project aims to make higher education more accessible in remote areas with limited connectivity, such as Ghana, parts of South America, and other global locales. PDS has deployed three resources to work on this project, demonstrating their commitment to improving educational access worldwide.
